Did you know muscle memory is created by practicing an action repeatedly? Our muscles fine-tune themselves, becoming more precise and exact in what they do. This is why practice is very important when learning a sport!

⚡️💙✅ The reliability and precision of an ordinary mechanical watch can be affected by a magnetic field of 50 to 100 gauss. But many scientists are exposed to much higher magnetic fields during the course of their work. Rolex’s solution was the Milgauss, created in 1956, the first watch of its kind. Hence the name of the watch, mille being French for thousand. #colorful #milgauss by #rolex ✅💙⚡️ #rolexshowisrael #rolexero #rolexwrist #sportwatchmania #mondani #rolexaholics #whatchs #watches #watchphotography #wis #watchlife #wruw #horology #orologio #menstagram #menfashion #whatusmenlike #wristi #wristwatch #menfashionpost #magnetism #womenwatch #womw #wristgame #wishlist #luxury #science

Good morning everyone! My name is Cody Phelps, a Biomedical Sciences Ph.D. Student, and I'm here to take over the EVMS Instagram for today. I came here in 2011 for my Master's Degree but liked EVMS so much I decided to stay for my doctorate. My research focuses on intercellular communication in cancer and how that impacts cancer biology, from chemotherapy drug sensitivity to blood vessel formation (termed angiogenesis). My day here begins with me planning out my experiments. It's going to be a busy day so get ready! #EVMSTakeoverTuesday #science #research #phdlife #EVMS #norfolkva

Twinkle, twinkle, many stars! Several stars and distant galaxies are visible in this Hubble Space Telescope ( @NASAHubble) view of a galaxy cluster. The light from the galaxies in the cluster has become redshifted by the expansion of space, making them appear redder than they actually are. By measuring the amount of redshift, we know that it took more than 5 billion years for the light from this galaxy cluster to reach us. The light of the galaxies in the background had to travel even longer than that, making this image an extremely old window into the far reaches of the universe. Here's another image of neurons, posted yesterday by artist David Blandy @david_blandy_ He says "It’s funny how neurons look like an image from the Hubble telescope. I’ve been working with some very clever scientists from the Livsey Lab @GurdonInstitute & @kettlesyard in Cambridge, they are creating cerebral cortex cells, which make up the brain’s grey matter, from a small sample of human skin. In particular they are looking at the development of brain diseases such as Alzheimer’s, watching the diseases develop in real time in order to work out a way of stopping it. Seeing these stem cells being grown into neurons is fascinating. I’ve been thinking about memory, language, consciousness and data. @harrietloffler & @h.doerflinger talk about the project on Kettle Yard's website. I can’t wait to see what the other artists involved are discovering as well @rachelpimm @wilsonlaurawilson I’ll be going for another visit to the lab soon." ➡ www.kettlesyard.co.uk/about/news/experiments-art-science/ #gurdoninstitute #ExperimentsArtScience #KettlesYard #regram #neurons #biology #science #art #greymatter #brains #microscope #microscopy

Stem cells work by stimulating the natural hair follicles in the scalp so that they grow and produce stronger and thicker hair. These cells help fight hair loss by regenerating mobile or dead hair cells and stimulating the development of more hair follicles. When you have thicker hair, you have more active cells that make new hair grow all the time. Stem cell treatments help maintain this strong growth and help fight the natural effects of aging and natural baldness. #innovaprofessionals  #hair  #capilar  #regeneration  #stemcells #hairloss  #beauty  #miami  #doral  #salon #science #modernsalon  #hairtutorials  #smile  #laugh  #smiling #hairstyle  #makeup  #americanstyle  #happy #look  #closeup  #style  #massaging

Repost By @natgeo: "Photo by @BrianSkerry. A Great White Shark swims through an undersea forest - approaching a ray - in the waters of South Australia. The largest predatory fish in the sea, the Great White Shark remains somewhat enigmatic, with much of its behavior - and even its population numbers - unknown. As a visual storyteller working in the sea for decades, I am always thinking about how to create images that will engage the viewer. I search for places and brief moments during which I can make a picture that will make people want to know more about an animal or place. Producing such images requires spending a lot of time underwater, waiting for that elusive moment that will resonate well as a photograph. Photographed #onassignment for @NatGeo Magazine. Crab Nebula: blast from a past supernova . . The Crab Nebula is a supernova remnant in the constellation of Taurus. A supernova remnant is the structure resulting from the explosion of a star in a supernova. It was named the crab nebula by William Parsons, who observed the object in 1840 using a 36-inch telescope and recreated a drawing of it that looked somewhat like a crab. . . In the early twentieth century, the analysis of early photographs of the nebula taken several years apart revealed that it was expanding. Tracing the expansion revealed that the nebula must have become visible on Earth about 900 years ago. Correlating this observation with historical records of a bright supernova by Chinese astronomers in 1054 makes Crab Nebula the first astronomical object recognized as being connected to a supernova explosion! . . At the center of the nebula lies the Crab Pulsar, a neutron star which emits pulses of radiation - from gamma rays to radio waves. The nebula's radiation allows for the detailed studying of celestial bodies that occult it (come in between the object and observer). In the 1950s and 1960s, the Sun's corona was mapped by observing the Crab Nebula's radio waves passing through it, and in 2003, the thickness of the atmosphere of Saturn's moon Titan was measured, as it blocked out X-rays from the nebula. . . The role of this nebula in the scientific understanding of supernova remnants was crucial, as no other historical supernova created a pulsar whose precise age we can know for certain. . .
