Pizza🍕🍕 (look away now if you are in weight loss phase and don’t trust yourself!!) Whilst pizza and diets don’t traditionally mix, it’s always good to know that homemade pizza gives you the option of a lower cal pizza as you are in control of toppings and unhealthy extras and unnecessary oils. When I first went to meet my husbands family in Milan, my dear mother in law made this for me and since then I make it for my family for special occasions or if I have the time. 🍕🍕
4 cups strong (bread) flour
Mix flour and salt and make a ‘well’ then add
1 glass of warm water with 20g fresh yeast dissolved in it.
1tbsp sugar and 1 tbsp oil.
Kneed and if dough too dry add water or vice versa add flour. Leave to rise for about an hour. Then roll out, this recipe makes 2 standard size round pies or 1 large rectangle like I made for speed and ease!
Add passata/chopped tomatoes ontop of rolled out dough, then add toppings eg. Light cheddar, or light cream cheese blobs, or crumbled feta and additional veg. Eg. Mushrooms onions etc.
Sprinkle oregano ontop of all and bake in preheated oven @180 degrees for approx 20mins checking there is some colour on underside of dough.
