My 67 years young neighbor has become curious about yoga and meditation as she notices the people making their way to class each week. Tonight she experienced her first guided meditation. . . Sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly but never the less she persisted. . . Meditation for seniors helps with memory. It sharpens focus of the mind and stimulates the “feel good” prefrontal cortex brain region.

Let me tell you a little story.. I used to be scared of what people thought of me. Especially in high school when I was trying to please everyone, be "cool" & look so happy when I totally wasn't🙄Thought I had to go to college forever, study something "normal" & stay in my hometown where I grew up! But one day I was like HEELL NAH🤢🙄 so I moved to the city, studied tourism so I could travel the world & moved to Costa Rica as fast as I finished school😝 and then one sunny Costa Rican day I said YES to this crazy opportunity that would allow me to live DIFFERENTLY, how I wanted to!😍 see, over the years I realized that being "normal" was so freaking BORING! Following what society wants for you?? NOPE ! How about what I want for me???👏🏻 as I grew older (wiser), I wanted to SHATTER preconcieved ideas & do EVERYTHING differently! ⭐RESPIRACIÓN PROFUNDA⭐ La respiración es esencial para la vida. Necesitamos respirar para vivir, de hecho lo hacemos naturalmente, y cuando practicamos yoga o meditación, profundizamos en ella. Puedes seguir los siguientes pasos para conectar con tu respiración: ✅1. Busca un lugar tranquilo y cómodo donde puedas sentarse. Si lo deseas, puede sentarse en posición de loto, donde cada pie descansa sobre el muslo opuesto, con las piernas cruzadas. ✅2. Siéntese con la espalda recta y permite que tus hombros se relajen alejándose de los oídos. Inclina la barbilla ligeramente hacia el pecho. ✅3. Coloca una mano sobre el ombligo y la otra en la zona lumbar, de modo que puedas sentir tu vientre que se amplía a medida que inhalas. ✅4. Manteniendo tu mandíbula relajada y cerrada la boca, inhala y exhala lentamente por la nariz. Imagina que tu abdomen es un globo que se está llenando y luego se desinfla con cada respiración. ✅5. Trata de imaginar la parte inferior de los pulmones e imagínate que se llenan desde el fondo hasta la parte superior. Asegúrate de que su inhalación es larga, profunda y amplia y que tu exhalación es lenta y completa. Cuando hayas practicado esto durante unos minutos, descansa.
