I continue to be amazed with what can happen when you put out some open-ended materials and observe how they foster the dramatic play and creativity in a child! At yesterday’s one-on-one, we began with many materials you could easily find in your apartment or otherwise throw out: bottle caps, packing styrofoam, wine corks, pieces of a cardboard box, foil, the tops of applesauce squeeze pouches, and buttons. We combined that with some homemade playdough, sand, and trucks, and got a full blown hardhat zone that’s an easy way to hone fine motor skills!
There were dump trucks loading bottle cap bricks and an excavator digging up sand and playdoh while a steamroller worked on a new road! We even layered in popsicle stick traffic signs to “help the trucks know where to go!” PM me if you’re interested in one-on-one educational activities tailored to your child’s specific interests! We had a blast! 🔨 🚧
