Hungover 9 miler for #sundayrunday with this babe 😍. It was just a tad windy and chilly 🍃🌬❄ but so gorgeous with the fresh snow on the mountains.... Followed by a quesadilla with mango salsa for lunch 😋

I went on the most amazing hike today with the crew of @everathlete! I didn't make it to the top but I'm so ok with that. It's been a looong time since I've done anything like that so I'm proud of what I was able to do. A big thanks goes to @ldcasterson for staying back with me and all of her encouragement! I'm not sure I would have gone as far as I did without her! #hiking #missionpeak #fitness #fitfriends #GrrrlClothing #grrrlarmy #challengeyourself #goals #progressisperfection #holybrrrrr #sunset #justalittlewindy

Hope everyone starts their week off strong. I'm going to be in key west for 2 weeks for work and the goal is to slim down the bottom of my stomach. Absolutely possible because I'm living off tuna since the room I have doesn't have a stove or oven 😧😑. But whatever it takes to stay on track 🤘💪 ⚀⚀⚀⚀⚀⚀⚀⚀⚀⚀⚀⚀ #fitfam #healthy #fitness #loveyourself #doitforyou #fitspo #passion #dedication #motivation #fitfriends #positivevibes  #gains #bodybuilding #fit #progress #fitsagram #fitlife #muscle #instahealth #instafit #vascular #instagood #doyoueven #grindout #focus #abs

140bpm, that’s my current recovery heart rate goal. I’ve been on two of these shorter runs this week, wearing the heart rate strap I despise from prior chaffing issues. However, these shorter runs-no chaffing. 👏🏼After attending a heart rate lecture @davesrunning I decided that if the elites do it, it must work to make you a better runner and sufficiently recovered runner. I’m sad to report that what I thought is my easy pace, my heart doesn’t agree with. Normally, I’m around 165-170bpm for any old regular run I’m on, and I have never thought a thing of it. Now I am, so...back down to seeing my paces from five years ago when I began running. I almost can’t believe it! Talk about a mental game, ugh, please tell me these runs will be worth it? 😣 #runhappy #runner #run #RunToledo #races #ohio #toledo #fitfam #fitfriends #runningfriends #davesrunning #davesmit #marathontraining #marathon #5k #10k #heartratetraining #garmin #runrecovery

Just because you don’t have food with you or you have to eat out, doesn’t mean you have to make bad decisions. There’s always a way to improvise and most the time you can request something that’s not on the menu as long as they have the items in stock. For example, this was a meal I got from Waffle House, 2 chicken breast, 4 egg whites, and 2 whole eggs.

*Warning* not your average pretty food pic lol My go to preworkout meal that I saw on @mountaindog1 YouTube channel months ago and have been using it ever since. I normally eat this 30 mins before my workout and it’s easy on the stomach. My Fiancé thinks it’s disgusting😂 but you do what you have to for results lol What do you eat for a preworkout meal?

Damn bro, look how far you’ve come @_ebony_king_ this was July of 2015 back at Fort Gordons gym. Talking about a transformation pic lol Couldn’t be happier for you bro🙏🏽 you’re gonna kill it at the Arnold this year!💪🏽

First time pulling 5 plates on deadlifts back in 2014 when. Dang my form was ate up🤦🏼‍♂️😂 was lucky enough later on to work with friend and past coach @sir_gymratfitness to show me my wrongs and the right way to perform big lifts.

A protein shake I use as a go to for weight gain. 8-12oz of milk, 1 cup of oats, 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil, 1 banana, 1 scoop of whey protein, and peanut butter if you’d like. Around 43g of protein, 96g of carbs, 21g of fats, and 725 calories. Wouldn't recommend drinking this unless it was post workout or if your trying to gain healthy weight.

Only a few exercises today since this was my 3rd time hitting legs in one week. Tried to keep the tension on the quads by keeping a short stride on the lunges and not going to deep to save my knees. Shown here with 185lbs for 8 reps each leg.

My whole goal is to get back to where I was last year which is shown here, but as a better, healthier and stronger me. Follow me on my journey! @the_foundation_stf

Personally, I don’t like taking many supplements or relying on them. I prefer to get the majority of my nutrients through food and I use the few products shown here as a supplement to my diet and training. What supplements do you guys take or prefer?

Day 6 of 28: Biceps & Triceps Last super set shown here, improvised on the tricep exercise. Liking the program so far! It definitely takes a lot out of you, but you get back what you put into it. @mountaindog1

*WORK IN PROGRESS* Only way you’ll ever learn and grow is if you be 💯 with yourself. Here you can clearly see my range of motion where I tore my pec and slightly injured my shoulder is still an issue with depth on certain lifts. I’m not here to show you all my perfect lifts, but all the good, bad, and ugly because no one does it perfectly every time and everyone fails from time to time. This was my last set where the goal was to work your way up doing 8 reps each set until you hit a weight you failed at before or at 8. I did 30’s, 40’s, 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s, before failing with the 90’s at six reps. Better safe than pushing and risking another injury.

Sometimes to become great at something, you need to be willing to push yourself to a point that no one else wants to go. If not, you’ll remain the same as everyone else.

Day 3 of 28 today. Banged out a killer back workout early this morning at powerhouse gym. My main focus was to squeeze, contract, and stretch the muscle more than it was to move heavy weight. Just a few movements from the workout are shown here. Had an amazing pump during this training session. Staying covered up until the end of the program which explains why I’m wearing a hoodie in Hawaii lol

Repost: @flexatronrhoden . . This is real talk for everyone going through a rough day, week or month. Life is too short to stay angry at the world. Don’t let someone else’s negativity or small mind ruin your day. We all have the same 86,400 second each day. This too shall past. Tag a friend that needs a reminder.

Day two of the “28 Days Later” Program by @mountaindog1 Did day one of legs yesterday and didn’t think I was gonna survive lol. Today was Chest, Shoulders, and calves. This is only 2 out of 9 exercises from today. Still having a tough time with the range of motion after tearing my right pec. It’ll take some time to get my body back to where it was before hand, but I’m determined to get back and better than before. First exercise was my 8th and final set on flat DB press, did ten reps with 100lbs and immediately dropped down to 60lbs for 15 more reps. Second exercise was sets of 20 reps doing body weight dips.

I’ve been doing intermittent fasting for about 2 weeks now and have nothing but positive things to say about it. Its a great source for overall health and longevity. I typically fast from 8pm till 12pm the next day(16 hrs) then eat a meal every other hour for 8 hours(4 meals) and start the fast over again. Just a few benefits are listed in the chart, but there are many that aren’t covered there. I began fasting to help shrink my waistline and within just 2 weeks, it’s back down to where it originally was before with no muscle loss.

Not my current look. I had to take a step back on lifting heavy after I tore my right pec 3 months ago. Now its back to business. My goal is to be back here after finishing the 28 day program.

Tomorrow I will be starting the first day of the “28 Days Later” Program from the big man himself @mountaindog1 This is a brutal 28 days straight of working out with no rest days at all. Its filled with high intensity and torturing workouts. If you’re into bodybuilding then you’ve probably heard of John Meadows and his intensity in the gym. If you want to do this program as well or if you’re interested, you can purchase it from the link in my bio. I’m not a sponsor for @mountaindog1 just simply like his style of training and workouts! I will not be posting the exact workouts due to copyright issues.
