Forrest tends to canter over jumps rather than using both of his hind legs together to push off, so today we worked on some little bounces which really helped! . You can see in the video the difference between his take of for the first jump (with his legs still in a canter stride) and the bounce (uses both hind legs together, or closer to together) . Forrest says using your body correctly is hard work! Developing the most amount of back musculature requires 3 key groups of exercises - vertical pulls (pulldowns, chin ups, etc), horizontal pulls (rows), and hinge movements (deadlifts, good mornings, etc). Each group has a different emphasis on the back musculature and helps to ensure that the full depth of musculature is used. . When designing a program, if the goal is aesthetics, focus on using each category 1-4 times per week to make sure you maximize hypertrophy. #TSTback

New program from @joeparish and these prowler pulls were great fun at the end 😁🔥 . I’m always really shocked when I see my back muscles 💪🏽 😍 . Our backs are an area that can change a lot when we exercise, especially with women. But it’s an area that we can’t see. . We always looking and criticising the tummy, we feel like we never change. But we are! . The tummy, sadly might be one of the last area’s to come in. So if you are someone who loses motivation by seeing no changed then I recommend you to take photos. . I love when girls on the #FFP compare their pictures to week 1 to week 10 and think they can’t believe how much they have changed, even when the scales haven’t really changed at all. . I know it can be a little embarrassing doing them but they are so worth the motivation if you do them every 2-3 weeks! . Sunday’s are for chilling in the sunshine, grabbing coffee (or in my case a @thejuicesmith shake) and getting work done! ☀️💁🏼 - Clearly I didn’t do much of the latter buttttt I did smash out an amazing chest session! Training chest is something us ladies shouldn’t avoid. I went through a period where I didn’t train my chest and the result was my chest area started to look quite hollow compared to the rest of my body so back on the chest band wagon I went and it’s definitely paying off! Don’t completely neglect a certain muscle if you want a balanced overall look 🙌🏽💖

Leg day ✔️ Yesterday I had a 1hr deep tissue massage (mostly focusing on my upper body). If you've never had one before, GET ONE. It hurts a bit but it's a good kind of pain. Before I any lower body day workout I will ALWAYS warm up my glutes. It increases blood supply and neural input to the muscle. I never really thought it was super important until I noticed a different in the quality of my workout (mind-muscle connection and strength) 🍑 . . My Top 3 Glute Exercises 🍑 S W I P E ⏪ L E F T These do however work other muscles in your legs, and are very good for your core too💥 🐒 Glute Bridge - I’m also a huge fan of the Hip Thrust and like to include both of these exercises in my training plan. A Glute Bridge doesn’t have as much ROM (Range of Motion) as a Hip Thrust nevertheless it is a great exercise to do as a beginner to prepare you for a Hip Thrust. I like to use resistant bands with these exercises too to increase the intensity🙋🏻‍♀️ 🐒 Romanian Deadlift - I love to play around with this exercise. You can use dumbbells, kettle bells, barebells, resistant bands. I like to do this exercise light with higher reps and get a nice stretch in my hamstrings. 🐒 Sumo Deadlift. Sumo Squats, Sumo Deadlifts, even Sumo Hip Thrusts? Is that what you call’em if you’re legs are at a wider stance? I dunno, I do them anyway haha🤷🏻‍♀️ Just S U M O erythang. Sumo is life. Happy Sunday everyone. 🌧 I want to apologize for the absence! My brother-in-law came to NC from MI for a few days, and we got to see POST MALONE. It was so much fun, I’d definitely see him again in a heartbeat. I was ~planning~ on training still while my BIL was here but time didn’t exactly allow it, but that’s okay, I got a whole week ahead of me to get right back into it. 😄 - In NC, we’ve been hit with rain every. damn. day. So frustrating because I love to be out in the sun (helps a lot w/ my depression) but these rainy days and my depression seem to be best friends 😒 I’m okay, trying not to fall into that hole, it’s just a little harder to get motivated, that’s all. - I’m using this Sunday to clean, do laundry, plan, and relax. I caught up on all my missed sleep, my body is still fatigued from all the driving and dancing at the concert, and my voice is STILL sore. 😂 Even though I’d love to lay around all day, I need to get my space clean and organized so I can have a successful and stress-free week. My go to exercises to get my glutes activated before I start a lil 🍑 session. 1-straight leg donkey kick: small or little, pulse or single kicks this works a treat 2- fire hydrant: make sure you squeezzeee 3- bent knee donkey kicks I do each for 45 seconds 15 second rest each leg then repeat 2-3 times Want to make it harder? Add resistance bands to really feel that burn🔥 You don’t just have to go to the gym to get this done, watching TV? Revising? You don’t need to eat salads everyday to lose weight; however, don’t be afraid to love them either! Just as you don’t need to eat salads everyday, you don’t need to eat chicken, rice, and broccoli. Find what you love, nourish your body, don’t restrict yourself too much. You should LOVE eating whether you’re trying to lose weight or gain. What’s in my salad: - spinach - shrimp - mango - dried cranberries - edamame - almonds - lemon juice - 0 cal honey Dijon dressing -•- I attempted to do 1RM deadlifts today. Probably a mistake because I did 1RM squats on Monday and I’m STILL sore lol. I only got 205lbs. Leg Day🍑 at the gym.. since the Sunrise #KokoHead hike got cancelled due to this crappy weather 😪 On another note: nothing else grows if the legs don’t grow! Don’t skip leg day! Leg workouts cause the biggest release in all muscle building hormones. Why? Because they’re half of your body. A heavy leg day is a shock to your body, it’s a lot of stress that your body needs to rebuild a stronger you.

Throughout my entire #Transformation, I kept myself at 3200-3500 calories a day. Protein: 350g/day (1400cal) And i cycled carbs and fats to hit the rest of my caloric intake. I carb cycled 400g-300g-100g-200g-100g depending on what muscle group i was working that day. The rest of the calories came from fats! Also, 60% of my carb intake is consumed during and within an hour after my workout. And das it! For me, eating or having a shake every 2-3 hours kept my metabolism up, and if i knew i was going to be somewhat sedentary for the next few hours, carbs were low in the surrounding meals. My diet isn’t ridiculously strict, I’ve never been a dessert eater because of my lactose intolerance, and I still get to enjoy all the Fire Station food: it just comes down to the timing.

In the past year, I’ve grown a lot mentally and I’ve been more productive than ever. I’ve learned that not everyone you meet needs to be a part of your life forever, but some only belong in a Chapter if your life’s story. I’ve also experiences first hand that the grass isn’t always greener on the other side, it’s greener where you water it.
