No, this photo wasn’t taken with some fancy #Nikon or #Canon camera or by some professional. Just me and my husband trying to be creative taking photos for House of Cherrie on my #iphone7plus. What you can’t see is it’s 100+ degrees outside in #Houston and Brandon (my husband) and I were pissed at each other trying to get these photos done.
I wanted Brandon to guide me more in my poses because, well, I’m no model, and Brandon wanted me to communicate more of what I wanted to portray in each photo. Truthfully, I had no idea. I just wanted a good photo of myself. (Soo… umm… Brandon needed to get it right the first time…so I thought.) And just like that, we went from a very loving married couple with all the best intentions to take photos for this new blog of mine to being two raging bulls. 😂
Having said that, my husband was there in hot sweaty weather supporting me, trying to capture my best angles and didn’t complain once. In this moment, I realized I’m not going to let this petty fight go on any longer so I APOLOGIZED. Yes, I apologized because he was only trying to help and I, as usual, got stuck in my ideas of wanting everything to be perfect and had unrealistic expectations set for how great of a photographer he should be his first go-round.
The reason I’m sharing is because marriage isn’t perfect. You go through tough times and sometimes stupid fights like this one. Despite all the beautiful photos you see of my husband and myself looking all googly eyed at each other, we are only human and will continue to face new situations. In other words, we don’t always get everything right, and that’s okay because we are always in each other’s corner no matter what.
So I’d like to leave you with this. Don’t believe that in your relationship everything will be perfect, or because you see other couples looking great in their photos they have the perfect relationship. As long as you two are growing and becoming better everything else will figure itself out. ✌🏽 #marriedlife
