In order to get the full benefits of stretching and mobility work, you have to work on both the agonist and antagonist muscle groups. This will greatly improve your range of motion, recovery time; and it’s also a great stress reliever. Here’s 3 examples of ways to stretch the agonist and antagonist muscles to help get rid of any tension and tightness held in your body. It’s important to work all aspects of fitness in order to build the best version of yourself. It’s not always about how much you can lift or how far and fast you can run. Things like explosiveness, agility, flexibility, and power are also 🔑 components of fitness. Plyometrics and speed and agility retraining are great ways to improve your explosive power, multidirectional movement speed, and even endurance. These movements are meant to be challenging and performed for shorter amounts of time. Go at your own pace and you will see great improvements in your overall fitness. Here’s 4 examples of some good drills to work on to improve your power and speed and agility. If you want to make them more challenging, then use a resistance band to up the intensity level. Mix up your bicep training by incorporating these 4 variations to the common curl. These exercises ensure that you give optimal attention to all aspects of your biceps, including the commonly neglected forearms. True Life: I Gave Up On Myself. • I’ve been out of the gym for a week or more, I haven’t been drinking nearly enough water, and I kind of quit caring about my diet. In my defense, I hurt my back a month ago and it was steadily getting worse (pro tip: lift with your legs & not your back people) but I used that as way more of a crutch than I should have. • • I’ve been sitting at the same exact weight for 3 months. Down to the ounce and it’s been driving me completely insane. My mentality hasn’t been where I should be and I just gave up on myself. That’s all there is to it. • • I let my current disappointment and frustrations overshadow just how much progress I’ve made and how far I’ve come in every aspect of life since choosing to be healthy. So today I took the time to remind myself of those things and appreciate my victories instead of dwelling on my struggles. I really thought about the things I love about myself mentally & physically and how much progress I’ve made in those areas. Hence the picture because the strength and toning of my legs, especially my quads are one of those things I love & am proud of. • • I’m still frustrated because I feel so weak and off my game, but I’m forgiving myself. I threw on my HerHustle headband, took my vitamins, and drank my water. I made it to the gym for the first time in over a week and though it wasn’t my best workout, I showed up. That’s what matters. I did better today than yesterday and that’s what I’m striving for. I want to be a better version of myself daily. • • So my point is, you don’t need a Monday or the first of the month or a new year to start over. I got back on track on a random Wednesday in the middle of November. Forgive yourself. Love yourself at all stages. Happy hump day peeps. 🤟🏼

Try not to put too much focus on numbers. Don’t rely on what the scale says or how much weight you can lift. The 🔑 to getting the best results is to listen to your body and stay motivated and consistent. Focus on things like how your clothes fit, how you feel after conquering a workout, and how your energy levels are throughout the day. These things will help shape the best version of yourself physically, mentally, and emotionally. Will it be easy? Of course not but the pain and struggle that you learn to endure will help shape you into a stronger individual and will give you the confidence to conquer anything in life.
