Someone send me some cold pressed juice to cleanse my body please! I have an exam tomorrow that I know nothing about and it is really stressing me out. Whenever I get stress, I go through this really bad cycle of snacking. Tonight, I lost count of how many @terrachips I had. I literally refused to stop eating. Terra chips are amazing and has very few ingredients but too much will make you feel sick and look like you are 5 months pregnant. I need to learn portion control when it comes to snacking. I am pretty good and healthy when I eat full meals but i have zero self control with snacks 👎🏻 Hope your Monday is going better than mine 😅 Please pray for me that I will do well tomorrow and not over-snack anymore 🙏🏻

How do we know the exercises we chose is the most effective for the muscles we're trying to target? For example, I know many of you are trying to hit your but instead your quads are growing so which exercises should you really focus on? Let's break it down quick and simple!! 👇 The easiest way to understand which muscle/muscles you're targeting in a certain exercise is to look at your joints and how they're moving during the exercises. 1️⃣ Straight lifts. You're only moving your hip joint here and that means your targeting hamstrings and glutes (back also ofc). When you extend your hip joint like this your quadriceps is not involved and therefor not working. 2️⃣ Squats. Here you're moving your ankles, knees and hips which make you hit your calves, hamstrings, glutes and quads. 3️⃣ Hip Thrusters. If you look closely you'll see that I'm moving my hip joint very much but only a slightly change in my knee joint angle. This means I'll get almost all focus on my glutes and hamstrings. 4️⃣ Sissy squat. By locking my ankles like this I take away all focus from my calves. I also have a straight back which change the angle of my hip joint compared to a regular squat. This means I put more tension on my quads and less on my glutes and hamstrings. I wanted to share what the only two smoothies I pretty much ever have anymore are so I made this two in one smoothie so show them off 😛 5 days out of a week I have a green smoothie which is frozen bananas, frozen mango and or pineapple, kale and or spinach, hemp seeds and water. And 2 days out of a week I have a wild blueberry smoothie which is just frozen bananas, frozen wild blueberries and water. The evidence is in the sheer acreage of farmland we devote to wheat, corn, barley, and sorghum and the excessive amount of grain we consume and export to the rest of the world. Grain-based foods are by far the number one source of calories in the American diet. The grains that go into those foods— mainly wheat, corn, rice, and sorghum—are among the crops that receive billions in federal farm subsidies annually. So, even our tax dollars are devoted to keeping grain-based foods like bread, pasta, rice, cereals, cookies, cake, pizza, oatmeal, and crackers on top. Most of these federally subsidized crops are also fed to livestock, which means that Americans are getting grains indirectly, too, from all the grain-fed beef, chicken, and dairy we consume. I do believe that a little bit of grain here and there is fine for some, but the problem is that grains have become a staple in the American diet, and quite frankly, the main dish. When my patients cut back or cut out grains, they often feel infinitely better and lose weight. Plus you can get all of the benefits of grains from healthier sources like vegetables, nuts, and seeds. How do you start your day? Morning routines will differ but the similarity is ALWAYS the same. The importance of proper nutrition throughout the day to fulfill your bodies requirements. . . ◀2012 (93lbs) vs. 2018 (130lbs)▶ _ Same mirror. Different mindset. Different hair. Different phone. I'm not gonna reveal what some of my issues were even though I'm sure you could guess. I never used to take pictures of myself head down 'cuz y'know, that shit wasn't pretty. I'm proud of how far I've come. Instead of getting made fun of because of how small I am, I now get made fun of because of how big ppl think I am. But honestly, idgaf anymore. If you think I'm fat, you got a problem. Not me. Took a 5 year break from working out and now I'm back at it. When I saw this yesterday, it really made my day. Thank you, @lay.fit 🙏🏻 The fact that Mark - unexpectedly - did this was very thoughtful. I appreciate it because I am trying to grow my brand and influence as I launch into full-time private practice as a soon-to-be Registered Dietitian (aka licensed 😎). So I’m thankful for those who have spread my name on their own volition - as this is something I would never ask as a favor as I find it uncomfortable. I emphasize working with a client’s trainer or coach because it’s so important for training + nutrition to be a coordinated care because they complement one another. I periodize every client’s nutrition based on their training and goals. But for women, I take it a step further and periodize nutrition based on their menstrual cycle. The purpose is to optimize - and take advantage of - strength + endurance gains and body composition in response to the change in hormones throughout the cycle. I’m very appreciative that Mark integrated the recommendations for our mutual client. And I’m glad it served as a resource for him to implement with his other female clients. It’s not about doing what’s EASY, but rather what’s BEST.
