I know it’s super humid out, but I was really craving this spicy vegetable jalfrezi. Packed full of the liver-enzyme, detox-boosting compound, sulforaphane, which is found in cruciferous vegetables like broccoli and Brussel sprouts 🌱😋 • • • • Ingredients: Red onion Garlic Mushrooms Mixed vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, carrots) Brussel sprouts Spinach Chickpeas Vegan jalfrezi sauce Chili powder (I like that extra kick 😉) • • • • I’m a fan of one pot/pan meals, so I simmered all of these delicious veggies and sauce in a massive cast iron skillet until the flavors intensified, of course tasting as I go! Crispy leek chips 😋 Such a fun and nourishing snack idea! They're so good it's not even funny! * * What you'll need: 1 leek 3 Tbsp avocado oil Garlic salt * * Directions: Preheat oven to 400. Prepare two cookie sheets with parchment and set aside. Cut off tops from leeks. Save the bottoms for other dishes. Slice each leaf down the middle and flatten as much as possible. Cut into ~2 inch squares. Place in bowl with oil and as much garlic salt as you'd like. Without over lapping, spread out chips onto cookie sheets. Bake for about 10 minutes or until golden brown. * * Leeks are apart of my favorite vegetable group: the allium family! The vegetable group has some amazing medicinal properties. Leeks and others in this group contain a powerful compound called allicin, which has anti-cancer, blood pressure-lowering, immune-supporting, anti-inflammatory abilities, among so many others! I dare you to do something...research allicin! There's so much information on the topic. 🔥Herbal Fire cider!!!🔥 It's straining day for this batch after about 6 weeks! Fire cider is mostly used in cooler months to prevent and treat the common cold. It clears sinuses, has vitamin C, increases digestion, reduces allergies, and balances blood sugar. Basically It's an apple cider vinegar infused elixir! Chopped up tumeric root, ginger, onions, garlic, jalapenos, and lemon juice, I also stuck in some rosemary! All the ingredients are probiotic and fermented, creating a great immune defence. ☺️❤️🔥

You know what they say, if at first you don't succeed, try again. I tried making tuna patties again and this time they were a hit, packed full of flavour and they kept together🙌🏼 These patties were perfect for burger night, and I think my bunless tuna burger was the best of the bunch😉 I used a can of @safecatchfoods plain tuna which are tested for low mercury levels, and the only ingredients are tuna, that's it, nothing extra added. --------------------- Tuna Patties 1 can plain tuna ( @safecatchfoods) 1/4 red onion chopped Fresh chopped herbs (basil, mint cilantro) 1/2 lemon juiced Sea salt and ground pepper to taste 1/8 cayenne powder (optional for heat) 1 tbsp. cassava flour ( @ottos_cassava_flour) Add everything into a bowl and mix well, form into patties (yields 2) Heat cast iron skillet add 1 tbsp. ghee, once melted gently add in the patties. Cook on medium high heat. Because I love sweets sooo much 😋😋😋 I had to find a way to accommodate my uncontrollable and unruly craving that creep up every once and again SO this is my go to grub and breakfast special as well by just simply throwing mango, raspberries and blue berries in a bowl mix and done. O aumento da prevalência de sobrepeso e obesidade é um fenômeno multifatorial, sendo que ele extrapola as questões puramente biomédicas. Ainda sim, mesmo quando a analise é feita apenas sob a ótica biomédica, é um erro gravíssimo tentar simplificar um evento desta complexidade ao consumo de carboidratos e/ou açúcar. . Como já dito em outros textos, sabemos que existem alguns mecanismos neurais referentes ao consumo de certos alimentos, contudo, se analisarmos os circuitos neurais de uma forma mais profunda, perceberemos que as maiores evidências apontam para a densidade calórica como o fator de maior influência sobre estes mecanismos, não o açúcar ou os carboidratos. . A análise dos gráficos mostra como as ideias propagadas nas últimas décadas sobre a relação do consumo de carboidratos e açúcar com o sobrepeso e obesidade estão distorcidas. Contrariando o que vem sendo difundido pelos terroristas alimentares, mesmo após a redução do consumo de açúcar e carboidratos, a prevalência de sobrepeso e obesidade continuou aumentando na população (norte americana no caso, embora os dados da OMS confirmem está tendência mundial). . Se observar, algo interessante aconteceu neste mesmo período: Houve aumento da ingestão calórica per capita. Ou seja, se cruzarmos os dados, embora não se estabeleça um nexo de causalidade, temos mais motivos para suspeitar que o aumento da ingestão calórica está levando ao aumento da prevalência de sobrepeso e obesidade do que o consumo de carboidratos e açúcar. . Não estou dizendo que o açúcar deixou de ser caloria vazia e que carboidratos refinados fazem bem, só estou dizendo que alarmes baseados em terrorismo alimentar não se sustentam cientificamente! . Started off my morning breathing deep, filling my lungs with mountain air, and feeling so grateful for another day alive. Swipe right for my morning view ⛰️ I've been away for a few days focusing on some parts of my life that have needed healing. I am a continual work in progress, and recently I've felt a bit under the weather throughout some significant internal and external shifts. This is part of the ebb and flow of this life and overcoming these times is what has shown me my ability to learn and grow. This kind of environment always brings me back into spirit, I felt like moving for the first time in days as soon as I got up! Threw some banded kickbacks and squats into my morning before we headed to hike around beautiful Banff! Crushed an awesome brunch, hiked about for five hours, and now we're sitting pretty at Lake Louise. I want you all to take a moment and thank yourself for being exactly where you are in this moment. Be proud of yourself for making it through each and every single day. Be grateful for your strength and resilience to continue to get back up no matter how many times you have been knocked down. Recognize the good that surrounds you. If you have the capacity to think of how something is "negative", and you also have the capacity to think the opposite of that thing, the one that is "positive". This is the law of opposites. Focus on you. You cannot control others, you cannot control outcomes, you can only control your own progression. And you are exactly where you are meant to be in this moment 💚
