You drank & drank from my well of life with a viciously lavish thirst, but never thought to replenish. I fell into a drought; I became dried soil upon your gaze, breaking & brittle in your hands. And then you dust me off them, as if my earthly ashes weren't sacred ground. As if my holy water had not made your cracked lips moist again. Yes, you replenished your soul with mine, leaving me drained of all nourishment.
