Peeping Self, 2014
PEEPING SELF "According to Foucault, visibility is a trap. In a Panopticon, the criminal is seen, but can not see. They are the object of knowledge, not a subject of communication. This is where the great impact of the Panapticon, creates a conscious and constant state of visibility that exerts the automatic function of power upon the prisoner." Technical information
Photos were taken remotely by connecting to security and/or touristic cameras. Screenshots were taken on a computer. Besides me, there was one other person who recorded the screenshots on the computer according to my directions, and another person using artificial lights on the location, again, following my directions.
Locations of the cameras used to take selected pictures are shown on the maps.
