WEEK 9 DAY 5 of #powerliftingtraining - #deadlifts and #ballisticsquats today. Had an increase of weight and I was soooo excited!!!! 😲😲😲😆😆😆💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿 - On vid: 1. Ballistic Squats 135x8 2. DL 170x2 3. DL 180x1 4. #blockpulls 140x8 - Felt super strong today and those deadlifts felt like cake. That 180 was effortless and easy, I could either go with it as a 1st or 2nd attempt on that lift almost like nothing. 🏋️‍♀️ Common error in the start position 🏋️‍♀️ . Starting with rounded shoulders will result in your weight pulling you forward on to your toes. Ideally, you want to set the shoulders back and down, engaging lower traps. Maintain this position past the knees to mid thigh before exploding powerfully upwards. 245lbs has always kind of been my magic number. It was my squat PR for the longest time. Then it was my first big breakthrough with my 8x3 workout when I accidentally put up 245 instead of 240. And recently it has been the weight that really activates my hip shift. 🏋️‍♀️ Relax the arms... you don’t need to pull! . Check out these power cleans. Wait for the slow motion at the end to prove you don’t need to ‘pull’ the bar high. Instead, the bar is still at waist height (quite a bit below my belt) when I change direction and start dropping under. The upward movement of the bar comes from the power generated by the legs. Something you cannot do effectively if you pull! . Where is your bar as you change direction? 🙈😂

Today's gains were brought to you by birthday cake and a donner calzone. Smashed 120kgx3 and 130kgx1 to pretty decent depth. Then done 132.5kg for 1 but think I was a little off parallel (anyone care to weigh in?) Then smashed sumo deadlifts and got 120kg for 12 reps. Probably could have got a couple more 💪
