Executive producer already has ideas for a season 6
With another season coming up, the producer of the series is very eager to show us the work they have accomplished with this and already makes us even more anxious with his constant posts on his Twitter profile.
In an old Hollywood reporter interview he responds to his ideas for the future of the series:
Unfortunately, these decisions are above my pay grade, obviously. I love these characters and I love this world, and surely this reboot of a six year jump provides us with a springboard that could go forward, season after season. There's no reason for her to have to finish. If she has to finish, the ending – which is strange to talk about, the end of season five! But it's epic, and maybe it can serve as an end. I hope not. I hope they will give some indication as we are working on whether or not it is, so I can give the next final the weight I think I would deserve if it was a series finale. Unfortunately, as you know, many of these things are business decisions that are made financially and not creatively.
He proved not to like the idea of a close end to the series, that all this will depend on how much the fans want it (obviously referring to the audience of the series).
