Exited my comfort zone today. Listen we all know what happens when we are overweight and we are in this position. Not flattering at all!! I was disgusted.....BUT.....I’m there trying to do something about it. So, let me use this picture not to hate on myself but rather love myself enough to keep going. Happy #saturday loves. Have an amazing #stpatricksday for those celebrating 🍀🍻☘️
Recently my training has revolved a lot around focusing on the mind-muscle connection and getting the best contraction possible with all of my exercises.
The mind-muscle connection refers to actively thinking about the target muscle during an exercise and feeling it work through the full range of motion.
Although deemed as a ‘bro term’, studies have shown that using the mind-muscle connection can create far superior muscle gains compared to using just an external focus.
Therefore, whilst we should look to promote progressive overload and lift more weight over time, we shouldn’t neglect the importance of executing exercises properly.
Try using the mind-muscle connection to get the most bang for your buck with each movement when looking to recruit more muscle and watch them gains ensue. 🍆💦
