Today is Fall Prevention Awareness Day #FPAD2017 and I would love to thank @rebekahrotstein @gotbuffbones for putting this out there as well as @zaynagold and @functionfabulous for this weeks #healingwithpilates topic of balance ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ I do many challenging balance moves for my own practice and standing on this yoga block while passing the ball to balance was no exception! For this exercise and when training clients who are unsteady I recommend the following: ✔️ stand close to a wall or barre ✔️ before taking action feel the foot connecting into the floor or prop ✔️ engage core and internally zipper up to be less heavy on your standing leg ✔️ your mindset needs to shift from panic and fear to "the ground never fails me it is always solid" ✔️move slow and breathe ✔️ when teaching a client let them feel and don't keep talking as they process ✔️ positive reinforcement is key for you and client ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ #yogainspiration #yogalove #practice #pilates #fitgirl #fitness #pilateslovers #pilatesinstructor #workoutmotivation #fitfam #healthy #determination #homeworkout #nogymneeded #core #muscle #balance #exercise
